ShortBooks Beta Author Agreement

    <h1>ShortBooks Beta Author Agreement</h1>
    <p style="color:#666;">Effective Date: April 14, 2026</p>

    <p>
        This Beta Author Agreement applies to authors granted access to ShortBooks during beta or limited-release phases.
        By registering as an author, accessing beta author tools, or using beta author features, you agree to this Agreement
        in addition to the ShortBooks Terms of Service, Privacy Policy, Content Policy, and any other applicable policies.
    </p>

    <h2>1. Beta Status</h2>
    <p>
        ShortBooks author tools may still be in active development. Features may be incomplete, unstable, changed,
        restricted, removed, or reset without notice. Beta access is temporary, conditional, and revocable at any time.
    </p>

    <h2>2. Confidentiality</h2>
    <p>
        During beta, you may see unpublished features, workflows, monetization systems, interface designs, editorial tools,
        analytics, business logic, operational processes, and other non-public materials related to ShortBooks.
        You agree not to disclose, publish, leak, share, copy, distribute, or publicly discuss non-public beta details
        without express written authorization from ShortBooks.
    </p>
    <p>
        This includes screenshots, internal tool behavior, unpublished feature details, pricing logic, moderation workflows,
        monetization systems, technical implementation details, and unreleased content or product directions.
    </p>

    <h2>3. Limited License</h2>
    <p>
        ShortBooks grants you a limited, revocable, non-exclusive, non-transferable right to access and use beta author features
        only for their intended purpose within the platform and only while your beta access remains active.
    </p>

    <h2>4. No Reverse Engineering or Competitive Use</h2>
    <p>
        You may not copy, clone, reverse engineer, decompile, scrape, map, reproduce, repurpose, or exploit the ShortBooks platform,
        author workflows, system designs, or confidential beta features for competitive, commercial, or development purposes.
    </p>
    <p>
        You may not use access to beta features to build, assist, advise, or accelerate a competing product, service, workflow,
        or publishing platform based on non-public ShortBooks information.
    </p>

    <h2>5. Feedback</h2>
    <p>
        ShortBooks may invite or receive feedback, bug reports, workflow notes, product suggestions, and improvement ideas from beta authors.
        You agree that ShortBooks may use that feedback without restriction, compensation, or obligation to you.
    </p>

    <h2>6. Author Responsibility</h2>
    <p>
        You remain responsible for all content you upload, create, edit, publish, submit, or monetize through the platform.
        Beta status does not reduce your legal responsibilities regarding originality, rights ownership, lawful use, or policy compliance.
    </p>

    <h2>7. Monetization and Financial Systems</h2>
    <p>
        Any beta monetization tools, earnings systems, payout views, subscription systems, or financial reporting features
        may change during beta. ShortBooks may limit, pause, adjust, or revoke monetization functionality where needed for accuracy,
        fraud prevention, legal compliance, operational integrity, or business reasons.
    </p>
    <p>
        Access to beta monetization features does not guarantee earnings, visibility, approvals, sales volume, payouts,
        or permanent access to any feature.
    </p>

    <h2>8. Content Review and Platform Control</h2>
    <p>
        ShortBooks may review, restrict, reject, remove, unpublish, suspend, or demonetize content or accounts during beta
        at its discretion where needed for quality, legal compliance, safety, intellectual property protection,
        payment integrity, or platform operations.
    </p>

    <h2>9. Account and Access Revocation</h2>
    <p>
        Beta author access may be suspended, restricted, or terminated at any time, with or without notice,
        especially where there is policy violation, confidentiality breach, abuse, fraud risk, security risk,
        or misuse of author tools.
    </p>

    <h2>10. No Guarantee of Launch or Continued Features</h2>
    <p>
        Beta features may never launch publicly, may launch in modified form, or may be discontinued entirely.
        ShortBooks is not obligated to maintain any beta feature, workflow, or access level.
    </p>

    <h2>11. Disclaimer</h2>
    <p>
        BETA AUTHOR FEATURES ARE PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE,” WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND,
        TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW.
    </p>

    <h2>12. Limitation of Liability</h2>
    <p>
        TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, SHORTBOOKS WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY LOSS, DAMAGE, COST,
        OR INTERRUPTION ARISING FROM BETA ACCESS, FEATURE CHANGES, CONTENT LOSS, EARNINGS IMPACT,
        OR PLATFORM MODIFICATION OR REMOVAL.
    </p>

    <h2>13. Breach of Agreement</h2>
    <p>
        A breach of this Agreement may result in immediate termination of beta access, content restrictions,
        monetization restrictions, account enforcement, or other legal or platform action as appropriate.
    </p>

    <h2>14. Changes to This Agreement</h2>
    <p>
        ShortBooks may update this Beta Author Agreement from time to time.
        Continued use of beta author access after an update becomes effective constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.
    </p>

    <h2>15. Contact</h2>
    <p>
        Questions regarding beta author access should be submitted through the support or contact methods made available by ShortBooks.
    </p>
