1. Purpose
This policy sets standards for stories, books, comics, uploads, covers, images, prompts, metadata, author profiles, comments where available, and any content submitted, generated, published, sold, or promoted through ShortBooks.
2. Responsibility
Users are responsible for content they submit, including AI-assisted content, uploads, prompts, titles, descriptions, images, characters, and revisions. Users must have the rights needed to publish, distribute, and monetize submitted content.
3. Prohibited Content
ShortBooks prohibits content involving illegal activity, sexual content involving minors, exploitation, grooming, credible threats, harassment, hate or extremist material, serious-harm instructions, malware, doxxing, non-consensual intimate content, infringement, impersonation, fraud, and high-risk abuse.
4. Minor Safety
Content directed to or involving minors may receive heightened review and may be restricted, rejected, removed, or re-rated. ShortBooks may prioritize child safety over publication, monetization, or creator preference.
5. Age Ratings
ShortBooks may use age bands such as 3+, 8+, 13+, and 18+. AI recommendations are not final; administrators may adjust ratings based on content, context, audience, complaints, or safety review.
6. IP and Rights
Do not submit content you do not own or have permission to use, including copyrighted text, artwork, characters, logos, trademarks, private information, voices, images, likenesses, or other protected material.
7. Monetized Content
Monetized content may be subject to higher standards and may be removed, refunded, demonetized, withheld from payout, or placed under review for policy violations, disputes, legal claims, fraud concerns, or payment issues.
8. AI-Assisted Content
AI tools may help draft, refine, plan, illustrate, or structure content. Users remain responsible for reviewing outputs and ensuring that final works are lawful, appropriate, original enough for their purpose, properly disclosed where required, and policy compliant.
9. Moderation
ShortBooks may use AI screening, human review, reports, logs, and automated enforcement. Administrative decisions may approve, reject, send back, reclassify, restrict, remove, or demonetize content.
10. Changes
ShortBooks may update this policy at any time. Continued use after changes means the user accepts the updated policy to the extent permitted by law.
