Effective Date: April 14, 2026
This Beta Reader Agreement applies to readers, customers, and testers who are granted access to ShortBooks during beta, limited-release, or invite-only phases. By accessing or using ShortBooks during beta, you agree to this Agreement in addition to the ShortBooks Terms of Service, Privacy Policy, Content Policy, and any other applicable policies.
ShortBooks may still be under active development during beta. Features, purchases, subscriptions, reading tools, account workflows, support systems, and other platform functions may be incomplete, unstable, changed, restricted, or removed without notice.
During beta, you may see non-public platform features, unreleased design elements, workflows, pricing models, content structures, monetization systems, support processes, or operational details. You agree not to disclose, publish, share, leak, copy, or publicly discuss non-public beta details without express written authorization from ShortBooks.
This includes screenshots, recorded walkthroughs, unpublished bugs, unreleased content, private workflows, and business or platform details not intentionally made public by ShortBooks.
Beta access is temporary, conditional, revocable, and provided only for evaluation and use of the platform as permitted by ShortBooks. Beta access does not guarantee permanent account status, uninterrupted service, continued feature availability, or future public access.
You may not use beta access to abuse the platform, interfere with testing, exploit unfinished systems, manipulate purchases or subscriptions, harvest private information, scrape content, or bypass restrictions.
You may not use beta access to harm authors, readers, platform security, payment systems, moderation systems, or operational stability.
Some paid features, digital purchases, subscriptions, or access benefits may be available during beta. Those systems may change, be paused, be corrected, or be reversed where needed for fraud prevention, refund handling, legal compliance, technical correction, or business operations.
Beta access does not guarantee that any purchase flow, subscription feature, receipt history, or digital access state will remain unchanged.
ShortBooks may invite or receive bug reports, usability notes, complaints, feature suggestions, and other feedback from beta readers. You agree that ShortBooks may use that feedback without restriction, compensation, or obligation to you.
Content available during beta may change, move, be unpublished, be corrected, be restricted, or be removed without notice. ShortBooks is not obligated to maintain uninterrupted access to any specific title, author page, subscription benefit, or reader feature during beta.
ShortBooks may monitor beta usage, investigate platform abuse, restrict access, suspend accounts, remove features, or terminate beta participation where needed for platform quality, legal compliance, confidentiality, payment integrity, user safety, or operational security.
You may not reverse engineer, clone, copy, map, scrape, reproduce, or exploit non-public beta systems, workflows, designs, or business logic for competitive, commercial, or development purposes.
Beta features may never launch publicly, may launch in modified form, or may be discontinued entirely. ShortBooks is not obligated to preserve any beta feature, interface, or access model.
BETA READER ACCESS IS PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE,” WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW.
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, SHORTBOOKS WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY LOSS, DAMAGE, COST, OR INTERRUPTION ARISING OUT OF OR RELATING TO BETA ACCESS, FEATURE CHANGES, CONTENT AVAILABILITY, PURCHASE CORRECTIONS, SUBSCRIPTION CHANGES, OR PLATFORM MODIFICATION OR REMOVAL.
A breach of this Agreement may result in suspension or termination of beta access, account restrictions, content restrictions, or other action as appropriate.
ShortBooks may update this Beta Reader Agreement from time to time. Continued use of beta access after an update becomes effective constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.
Questions regarding beta reader access should be submitted through the support or contact methods made available by ShortBooks.
